Poor Trummy!

Truman doesn't like to have his picture taken lately! He clues into what I'm soon if inset him down and back up. This is what the pictures end up like nearly every time. I couldn't get all three kids together in their costumes.

They all had a great time trick-or-treating. Truman was in heaven being handed candy at every door. He loved it!

Halloween!

Two little princesses! So much fun!

Winter wonderland

This is what my backyard looks like this morning. I love the layer of snow on each branch. It makes me feel like staying inside and baking (not a desire I often have) while enjoying the view! I can get used to this again. Bring on the snow!

Is it Christmas??

It snowed again last night and my kids woke up so happy and wondering if it was Christmas again. I wonder how long this excitement will last? They are loving the snow so far! Truman was NOT loving his hat in this picture. :)

Denver Snow!!

My kids were so excited when they woke up the other day and there was a light dusting of snow on the ground! They thought it was Christmas!!! They got all bundled up and we walked Abby over to school. Truman had so much fun. He wasn't sure what to make of all that white stuff. The nice thing was that it melted 3 hours later!

Truman's buddies

Truman loves stuffed animals. He wants to hold one whenever he sees one at someone's house or at the store, and he always sleeps with the dog he's holding. He calls it "Ruff"! This morning he gathered all these stuffed animals and sat down with them on his rocking chair. He then had me hand him a "boo" pronounced book without the k. This little boy just kills me right now. He's so fun!!

Abby is such a poser these days!

Fall leaves!!!

We drove to Winter Park, a ski resort, to see the Autumn leaves today. It was fun although we didn't see as many leaves as we were hoping for. The ones we did see were pretty breath taking though. The aspens looked like a neon yellow next to all the pines. A few we're starting to turn red. I love this time of year! Although I do miss the almost always wonderful weather in California, I'm happy to be back with the change of seasons. It takes me back to my childhood and the excitement of starting a new school year and of all the holidays quickly approaching!

Truman had just pooped through to his pants, thus he wasn't very happy in this picture :).

Go Broncos!

Look who's already a Bronco's fan! I got this sweatshirt at a Highlands Ranch garage sale and it's in great condition! I think Truman felt like a big boy wearing it. Garage sales are the thing around here. I decided to have one the other day to get rid of a lot of stuff that we didn't toss before we moved and some things that the previous owners left in our house. I was amazed at how many people came AND bought stuff. We had a steady stream of people from 8-2 pm. It was something I had to try, living here in garage sale land :)!

Go HERicanes!!

Today was Abby's first soccer game. She did so well! She just ran right out on to the field and started chasing the ball around without any hesitation. She is on the same team as a bunch of girls in her Kindergarten class. She is having a blast!

Go Ponytail Express-woo woo!

Yes, that is the cheer for Hailey's soccer team! These girls are so adorable out there running around! Hailey was a little unsure at first, but then really took it up a notch after she told us not to watch her. She even dribbled the ball half way down the field! (We watched from afar :) ).

Happy 1st Day of Preschool Hailey!

Hailey has been waiting and waiting for preschool to start! She woke up with a grin on her face, ready to start the day! She is one of only eight kids in her class, which is perfect! She hopped in the car afterward and started talking about all the kids and the fun things she did. We're off to a good start!

Fun at Elich's!

We went to Elich's Garden and Theme Park on Labor Day. We were so amazed at how brave Abby and Hailey were. Hailey went on the kids roller coaster all by herself and held her hands up the whole time! Abby went on the Balloon ride because the roller coaster was a little too loud :). It was fun to see them having such a great time!

Our little girl grew up too!

Abby just started Kindergarten a few weeks ago and is LOVING it so far! She has a few friends from church in her class and just made a new friend. Hailey, Truman and I walk her to school every morning. She gets excited to see what her teacher will be wearing :). She really likes her teacher. She often quotes her throughout the day and tells us about what she learned that day.  Our favorite quote so far, "My teacher says, zip it, lock it, put it in your pocket". Complete with actions!

Bye Bye baby, hello my little boy

I saw a post of my friends' the other day that I loved. She was speaking directly to her son. I have been really realizing lately how Truman is not much of a baby anymore. He is at such an adorable age! Discovering the world around him, learning to talk and walk and trying so hard to tell us or show us what he wants. This is for you Trubie...

You are becoming such a big boy!You just learned to walk about a month ago and now you are so fast! I love to watch your little scampering feet and your unsteady gait.  You often end up with a bruise somewhere on your head. You don't care much though.

You are discovering all the neat things that your body can do.

You love to eat fruit. Particularily strawberries, grapes and bananas. Nana was one of your first words.

You love to read books! You also love balls. You call them "boo"s and "baw"s.

Whenever you are outside you cary a rock in each hand. You often end up taking other people's or places rocks. We'll have to have a lesson on taking things that aren't ours soon!

You often get picked on by your older sisters. You are learning to fend for yourselt though :)!

You love your dada so much! You say, "Dada!" and point to the stairs when you hear the garage door go up as Dada is walking in from work. We love you so much Truman and can't imagine our lives without you!

Fun in Utah this Summer

We spent a little over a month in Utah this summer. I love to get back there and spend time with our family and friends that we don't see on a regular basis. We had so much fun up at Grandpa Dean's property hanging out with cousin's and doing a lot of fishing. Look how proud Abby was of the fish she helped to catch. It was almost as big as her!

Happy 4th Birthday Hailey!!

I love this picture because it shows the two little steri strips that are holding a cut together on Hailey's chin.  The poor thing has had to have her face glued together more times than the amount of fingers she is holding up! She said to me the other day, "I fall alot!" It was pretty cute, but sad at the same time. :) Hopefully she'll outgrow this stage soon!

Hailey had so much fun with all of her new "Denver" friends!

Abby and Hailey are still really into Rapunzel. Hailey was determined to have a Tangled birthday party just like Abby did. These two have so much fun together..... mostly :)!

Even Flynn Rider attended the party!

Happy 1st Birthday Truman!

We can't believe that Truman is already one year old! The time flew by! He is growing so much and we have loved every minute that he has been a part of our family. He is such a little boy!! He growls, yells in a low voice, loves rocks, balls and cars and thinks most animals say, "fruff fruff"! I just cant get enough of this little guy! He cracks us up all the time!

Here are pics from his birthday party in June. Better late than never! :) Our new dear Denver buddies, the Moats' came to the party along with our dear neighbors Mike and Adrianna. We couldn't get Truman to smile though.  He was a little overwhelmed. :)

Feel the Love

Our dear friends Tom from Palo Alto and Adriana, our adopted grandma down the street, came to Abby and Hailey's dance recitals. It was a fun day. Abby and Hailey felt so special!

Abby Ballerina

Abby had such a great time performing her ballet and tap dances. She loved dancing up on stage and feeling like a little princess. She met some good friends in her class as well.

Hooray for Hailey!

Hailey was so excited to receive her own bouquet of flowers after her dance performance. One day, shortly after moving to Denver, Hailey said, "but I didn't get to dance on stage!", referring to leaving her ballet class in California behind. So I quickly enrolled them in dance, and luckily they were still able to track down some costumes even though it was only 6 weeks before the show. Hailey had so much fun dancing on stage! (No Dave doesn't generally wear headbands, Abby put that on him) :).

Cousin fun!

These little girls have so much fun together when we go to Utah. Sleepovers, late nights and a lot of mess making and getting into trouble. They look too cute in their matching PJ's!

Memorial Day weekend

Abby and Hailey had so much fun with their cousins in Utah over Memorial Day weekend. We went fishing and hung out in in grandpa's RV. They had a blast! Even tough it was a short trip, it was good to be together with family and to check out the drive to Utah, which isn't that bad. Parts of it are really pretty too! I'm not sure I'll venture it alone yet though!

Lilacs, Apples, Pears Oh my!

We have been pleasantly surprised by the trees and bushes in our yard that we have discovered since moving in. These lilac bushes looked and smelled so beautiful a few weeks ago. We are excited for our cherry, apple and pear trees to start producing fruit!!

Hello Colorado :-) !!

Although we miss many things about California, especially all the people we came to know and love, we are adjusting well to Colorado and already starting to love it! This is a shot off the back of our balcony.  We are loving the trees and the sun and are excited to explore the mountains! What I love about the Denver Rockies is that you can see multiple layers of them if you catch them just right at sunset. Its breathtaking!

Off in the background is the play structure at the Elementary school that Abby will attend next year. I am so excited that I can walk her there!! She is too!
Our kids are loving their new home and helping mom and dad get the yard all cleaned up. Abby and Hailey had just helped me pot these plants for the front porch the day before. They are being such good little helpers.

Goodbye California :-(

One last visit to the beach was a must, as Dave gave up his dream of being a surfer so Heather could have her dream of living in the mountains. :-) We had also never taken family pictures at the beach and definitely needed some!! Here are a few cute pics.  It was a beautiful day in Half Moon Bay.

Truman had the great pleasure of covering his little feet in the California sand.

Abby had to soak in her last ocean view...
Hailey had to pick her last flower.
We loved our last visit to San Fransisco and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge from a whole different vantage point.  These pictures were taken from Land's End Trail.
At the end of Land's End trail.

This is our first visit to Napa Valley.  It was pretty sweet. From Geysers to Castles, we saw it all.

Abby and Hailey felt like Rapunzel in the tower of the De Amorosa castle winery.

Sitting in the river on chairs at the Big Sur River Inn.  This was something I always wanted to do before leaving CA. It was fun! Abby and Hailey loved it. It was very relaxing.I can imagine how much more relaxing it would be without kids and a good book :).

Just a bit of craziness while we were hanging out in our cabin the evening before.
One of the beaches we enjoyed going to as a family.
What is it with boys and wanting to eat sand?????? I don't remember my girls doing that.
What a fun week we had visiting some of our favorite CA spots. We already miss them!
