I just wanted those in my circle of friends to understand how strongly I feel about this proposition. In the hope to sway those who may be on the fence or don't see the importance of this proposition. I have lived in California my whole life and have loved every minute of it. Recently the thing that is most dear to all of us has come under attack. That is the family and it's definition. Proposition 8 puts simple words into the California constitution in order to protect the institution of marriage and keeps the definition the same as it has been for thousands of years. "Only Marriage between a man and woman is legal and recognized in the state of California." Children have a right to be reared by a mother and father. It is the best combination of two inherently different genders. It helps a child develop in a manner that most benefits society. I feel it is our right to safeguard this institution.
The majority of California's passed a similar proposition just 8 years ago (Prop 22) and a few judges have overturned it. Please join me in making sure that this action is corrected by voting in favor of proposition 8.
